The time has come to rethink Philadelphia’s Benjamin Franklin Parkway, and fill in the dead zones between cultural attractions with spaces and places for people to enjoy.
Our friends at Penn Praxis and The Penn Project on Civic Engagement are working with Parks & Recreation on an Action Plan for the Parkway, shaped around quick-hit projects. A big part of creating the plan involves sourcing Philadelphia’s citizens for community input and discussing the kinds of programs and projects that might enhance the Parkway experience.
Go weigh in on the Parkway’s future! The community meetings are now underway.
Registration will run from 6:00 – 6:30PM and the program will run from 6:30 – 8:30PM.

Why does every inch of city space need “developing”? Leave the Parkway alone! It’s one of the most pastoral places in the city for strolling, and is one of the only remaining stretches of green. We are well on our way to having a magnificent array of museums within walking distance. Let’s preserve the BF Parkway, and concentrate on developing areas of the the city that really need it.
