September 2, 2010

On Wednesday, September 1 The DesignPhiladelphia Intern Team hit the streets to start promoting this years events by creating a sidewalk chalk installation in front of University of the Arts at 320 S. Broad street. KYW’s John Ostapkovich reported from in front of Hamilton Hall ”that as traffic moved by on South Broad Street near Pine, the students taped stencils to the sidewalk to hold them still in the breeze, then wrote…

“UArts, where design enters the world. DesignPhiladelphia.”

DesignPhiladelphia

June 8, 2010

Design takes time. Time to imagine, time to create, time to experience, time to digest. We can’t slow down time, but we can spread it out. So instead of a week, DesignPhiladelphia 2010 will last a full 11 days, October 7 to 17. This gives you more time to be enlightened and fascinated, thrilled and excited by the breadth and depth of the creative company you keep in the Greater Philadelphia region.

Electronic Ink

June 6, 2010

Electronic Ink partners with DesignPhiladelphia 2010 to create a fresh web presence for our cultural initiative. An international consultancy, Electronic Ink is dedicated to improving the way people interact with technology, environments and one another. In 1990, Harold Hambrose built the company to provide insightful design solutions that solve problems by doing something radical: considering human behaviors first and foremost. It was the practice of user-centered design, before it even had a name. We, at DesignPhiladelphia, share Electronic Ink’s goal. People must be front and center to the questions we ask and the problems we’re solving in order to effect any real change.
